October was supposed to look a little different for Elevated Celebrations.
I originally planned to share some of the fun we've been having at local costume parties and community events. Instead, life has surprised us with an entirely new adventure.
As my husband prepares for a new opportunity in his career, I've found myself reflecting on what this past year has meant to me.
A Year Ago, I Took a Chance
In October 2025, I officially launched Elevated Celebrations right here in Colorado.
I had never owned a business before. I had plenty of ideas, a vision for what I wanted to create, and absolutely no idea just how much I would learn along the way.
This year brought so many firsts. My first customers, my first balloon installations, opportunities to participate in community events, and the excitement of introducing new experiences to our growing lineup.
There were plenty of challenges, unexpected changes, and moments when I had to figure things out as I went.
Somewhere between preparing for events, learning new skills, and watching my creations come to life, I discovered something pretty wonderful.
I genuinely love what I'm building.
The People Made It Special
One of the greatest rewards of starting Elevated Celebrations has been connecting with people throughout our Colorado communities.
From customers who trusted me with their celebrations to fellow small business owners who welcomed me into their events, every opportunity has meant something.
I've learned that sometimes the smallest interactions leave the biggest impressions.
A kind word, a shared recommendation, or watching someone stop to admire something I've created has been enough to remind me why I started.
To everyone who has supported Elevated Celebrations throughout this first year, thank you. You've helped make this experience something I'll always be proud of.
An Unexpected Next Chapter
If you had told me a year ago that I'd be preparing to relocate my brand-new business across the country, I probably wouldn't have believed you!
Yet here we are.
Leaving Colorado means saying goodbye to the community where Elevated Celebrations first found its footing. It also means I'll have the opportunity to introduce everything I've been building to an entirely new audience.
I know that won't happen overnight.
Building relationships, earning trust, and establishing a clientele takes time. I've spent the past year learning just how much heart goes into every part of that process.
And I'm genuinely excited to experience it again.
Once our family is settled in Florida, I plan to continue this adventure, bringing along everything I've learned and plenty of new ideas.
For now, I'm simply grateful.
Grateful that I took the chance to begin. Grateful for the people who gave me opportunities to grow. And grateful that this unexpected change doesn't mean the end of something I've worked so hard to create.
Colorado gave Elevated Celebrations its beginning. I can't wait to see what Florida has in store for us.
Here's to one unforgettable first year and many more celebrations ahead!
